The Future of Planning  |  Online  |  12 June 2026 at 15:00

Current definitions of planning focus on using math to predict future outcomes, assuming that the future is predictable and that teams are clear on desired outcomes. But what happens when both assumptions are false?

Existing supply chain planning taxonomies were designed when memory was expensive, outcomes were more predictable, and supply chains were regional. As technologies shifted, instead of redesigning supply chain planning platforms, companies focused on tight integration and driving a faster response. In this presentation, Lora Cecere, Founder of Supply Chain Insights, explores what a planning solution could look like if we took today’s technologies — machine learning, large language models (LLMs), an explosion of data, and deep learning — and redesigned supply chain planning. These insights are based on four years of testing with existing technology providers and interviews with innovators.
